    Tarrant County processes a record number of motor vehicle title transfers and registrations each month.  We are third in the State of Texas in the number of motor vehicle transactions.  In keeping with our Mission Statement, we will provide efficient and timely service at all eight locations.

    Our primary focus is on taking care of citizens.  Please complete a blue comment card and drop in the designated location when you visit our offices, or email and let us know how we are doing.

    Please note:  Beginning with March 2016 registration renewals, an inspection must be obtained within 90 days of the registration expiration.   



    Renew Registration

    Renew Online :  You may renew registration, request specialty and military license plates, change your address, or sign up for e-Reminders for your registration by accessing the TxDMV website.  When renewing online, you will receive your registration sticker by mail approximately 10 days afterwards.

    Renew By Mail:  Registration may be purchased by mail.  Mail your renewal notice, Vehicle Inspection Report and proof of liability insurance to the address shown on your renewal notice.  If you have moved to a different county, the renewal notice should be mailed to your new county tax office address.  Access a listing of county tax offices.  Select "TAC Listing" from the Documents list to open a .pdf file with all tax offices throughout the state.  Make checks payable to Wendy Burgess, Tax Assessor-Collector.

    Renew In Person:  You may also purchase registration in person at any one of our eight locations.  Bring your renewal notice, Vehicle Inspection Report, proof of liability insurance, an acceptable form of ID, and the required fees.  If you did not receive a renewal notice, bring your license plate number or Vehicle Identification Number.

    Renew at Other Registration Renewal Locations:  You may purchase registration at one of our other registration renewal locations, which includes Fiesta, Kroger, and Tom Thumb grocery stores.  Bring your renewal notice, Vehicle Inspection Report, proof of liability insurance, an acceptable form of ID, and the required fees.  These locations offer extended hours, including nights and weekends.
