Biographical Note

Margie Belle Boswell was born in 1875 in Pueblo, Colorado to A. G. and Mary Isabel Huffmaster. The family moved to Texas, where Margie became a teacher in Fort Worth public schools until her marriage to W. E. Boswell in 1897. They had eleven children, two of whom founded the Boswell Dairies company in Fort Worth in 1924.

Margie B. Boswell wrote and taught poetry, contributed poems to literary journals, and published many books of poetry. She was active in local, state, and national poetry organizations, and held various offices in these organizations. Margie B. Boswell died in 1963 and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth.

The Margie B. Boswell Collection contains materials related mostly to Mrs. Boswell’s interest and work in the field of poetry, as well as some materials related to the Boswell family and Boswell Dairies.
