    community youth development program

Community Collaborative Committee (CCC) members are representative of the population of the community and is comprised of residents, diverse social service professionals, business owners, CYD service providers and youth.

    CCC members are charged with:

    • Establishing the mission and vision of the 76106/76164 CYD Program,
    • Assessing community needs and strengths,
    • Determining how to integrate CYD into the community,
    • Keeping the community informed regarding CYD services, and
    • Encouraging collaboration among area agencies to provide an integrated means of identifying barriers to service delivery, finding solutions to these barriers and providing a diverse menu of resources to meet a range of client needs.

The Community Collaborative Committee also establishes a Review Committee, which includes five active CCC members. This Review Committee evaluates proposals based on community needs, funding priorities, and contract performance. To ensure CYD has innovative and effective programming, advertisements are placed in the local newspaper and notices are sent to youth service agencies. The Request for Proposals (RFP) is released every two years during the first quarter of the year, and services are generally selected by June. The program year begins on September 1 of each year.

Due to youth participation, all members must complete CYD criminal background check forms 2970c and 2971c and receive criminal and abuse/neglect clearances from DFPS.

Community Collaborative Committee meets at least once per quarter. Please contact the CYD Project Manager if you are interested in becoming a member of our Community Collaborative Committee.
