Tarrant County Public Health - Storm Water
Tarrant County has prepared a Storm Water Management Program (SWMP) to comply with the requirements of the TCEQ's Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) General Permit TXR040000. On November 21, 2008, Tarrant County received MS4 Permit Number TXR040052 from the TCEQ. The SWMP prepared by Tarrant County is a five-year program to reduce storm water pollution in the creeks and streams in the unincorporated, urbanized areas of the county. A link to the current SWMP document, which was approved by the TCEQ before issuance of the MS4 Permit, has been provided. If you have any questions or comments about the SWMP, please contact Robert Berndt.
Tarrant County highly recommends that all developers and engineers working in the unincorporated areas of Tarrant County use the integrated Storm Water Management (iSWM) Program for Construction and Development. This regional initiative by many of the local governments in the North Central Texas area was to produce a document that would link storm water quantity (flood protection) and storm water quality (storm water permits). Please visit the iSWM website for current document information.
Please check this website often as the Transportation Department will update information regularly. If you have any questions about Tarrant County's MS4 Storm Water Permit, please contact Robert Berndt, REM at 817-884-2634, or at firstname.lastname@example.org. If your question can not be answered, you will be directed to the local, state or federal agency that can answer your question.
