Dave Pearson Collection

The collection of Dave Pearson, a longtime resident of Fort Worth, contains items related primarily to Fort Worth public schools and the historic Steam Engine No. 610. Pearson graduated from Arlington Heights High School as a mid-term graduate in 1950. Since then he has accumulated a large collection of Fort Worth school yearbooks, handbooks and directories, scrapbooks, newspapers, ephemera, publications, and photographs. In addition, Pearson donated materials related to the restoration of the historic Steam Engine No. 610. Pearson played a major role in the restoration process and served as President of the 610 Historical Foundation. The steam engine was used to pull the American Freedom Train through Texas as a part of the United States Bicentennial celebrations in 1976.
