There are several ways to file a complaint:

  1. You may call HUD in Washington, DC toll-free 1-800-669-9777

  2. You may file electronically or print out a complaint form at www.hud.gov and navigate to or search: Fair Housing Office/Complaint Form.

If you write please include:

  • Your full name and address including city, state and zip code.
  • The name and address of the person or company your complaint is about.
  • The address of the house or apartment you were trying to rent or buy.
  • The date when the incident occurred.
  • A brief description of what happened.
