Donating to the Archives

Tarrant County Archives encourages groups, individuals, and organizations to donate materials related to Tarrant County history. Materials can be related to specific events, families or individuals, and organizations. When considering donation, remember that there is no insignificant event, person, or organization -- all of this history is worth preserving. The following types of materials would be welcome:

  • Albums, journals, diaries, letters, and scrapbooks
  • Materials related to/produced by churches, clubs, businesses, and organizations
  • Land-related documents, such as blueprints, deeds, and Abstracts of Title
  • Maps of Tarrant County, towns in Tarrant County, Northwest Texas and Texas
  • Newspapers from Tarrant County communities
  • Oral histories
  • Photographs and postcards

If you aren't sure if your materials are appropriate for donation to the Tarrant County Archives, contact us at archives@tarrantcountytx.gov and we can review your materials. If they are not a good fit, we can recommend other possible repositories.
