Tarrant County Public Health's Refugee Clinic works in cooperation with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) to provide incoming displaced persons from around the world with screenings for general health, nutrition, and communicable diseases that could have an impact on the client and the health of the community.

The general health screenings help the clinic staff identify pre-existing and new health conditions, promote patient wellbeing, introduce new arrivals to the U.S. healthcare system and connect refugees to primary and specialty care providers. The screenings consist of blood pressure checks, vision and hearing evaluations, a nutritional assessment including weight and height, blood testing for communicable diseases, Tuberulosis tests and parasite testing. Immunizations for immigration requirements are evaluated and provided. Adults and children with certain eligibilities are served by this program.
