Who do I call to report the death of a retired military member?

 
If the member was receiving military retired pay, you should call the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), at (800) 321-1080. If the member was receiving compensation or pension from the VA, you should call the VA at (800) 827-1000.
