About the Tax Assessor/Collector

Meet Betsy Price....

{Betsy Price, Tarrant County Tax Assessor/Collector}
{Welcome to the office of Betsy Price, Tarrant County Tax Assessor/Collector}

Betsy Price was sworn in January 1, 2001 and began her third term on January 1, 2009.  Betsy is a native of Fort Worth and a graduate of UTA.  Price and her husband Tom have three children and two grandsons.  Before running for office, Betsy owned her own business, Price Cornelius Title Service for 17 years, titling and licensing vehicles for Tarrant County dealers.  Price brings knowledge of business and community needs to the Tax Office and focuses on the use of technology to improve the assessing and collecting of ad valorem taxes and motor vehicle transactions.

Betsy Price has been actively involved in the community for many years.  Price also has been involved with Mayfest, Campfire and served as a Cub Scout leader.  She is VP for the Chisholm Trail Red Cross and Chair for Streams and Valleys. She served 20 years with Paschal High PTA and is active with her church and has coached Cowtown elementary and middle school running teams.  Betsy enjoys distance bicycling and running.

Betsy has her RTA certification.  She is an active member of TACA, the Tax Assessor-Collector Association and has served as President and is currently serving as Legislative Chairman.

Under her leadership, the Tax Office will assess and collect 3 billion dollars, process 1.6 million motor vehicle transactions, issue 4,000 liquor, beer and wine licenses and answer 3,500 phone calls a day.  Price is committed to providing the best in customer service through the use of best business practices and the latest technology.  Her office has won four awards for Best Practices with the Texas Association of Counties and two NACHA awards.   Since taking office, the web site has been developed for easy use, a tax estimator added, credit card transactions and eChecks accepted on line and new improved statements developed.

Under Price’s leadership, the Tax Office now converts all checks received in office to electronic deposits, which provides better customer service for citizens and saves taxpayer dollars by increasing office efficiency.

Customer Service is the primary goal for the Price Administration.

Thank you for visiting the new Tarrant County Tax Office Official website. This is just one of many new and exciting ways we intend to improve customer service to the taxpayers of Tarrant County.
