    Barbara Pennock Collection

Summary: Donor gave items related to the Pennock and Miller families of Fort Worth. The donor's husband Jack Pennock, Jr., (1929-1994) was a professional golfer at the Katy Lake golf course, located where La Gran Plaza currently stands. In 1926, a golf course was built at the lake and the lake served as a popular recreation area and golf course until it was drained in 1959. He is the son of Jack Bernard Pennock (1905-1966) and Elsie Watkins Pennock (1911-1993) of Fort Worth. The donor's parents are Gaither Miller (1886-1967) and Irene Jackson Miller (1893-1998). Gaither Miller was the son of Dr. T.B. Miller (1852-1926), pioneer Mason and physician of Goodnight, Texas. The Miller family moved to Fort Worth around 1924. Gaither Miller later worked as the auditor/accountant of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
