New Tax Office Charitable Fund Committee Selects Local Charity
Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector Ron Wright announced the creation of a Tax Office fundraising committee that will choose one nonprofit charitable organization selected by Tax Office employees each year to support with fund raisers in the Tax Office. The committee is made up of nine non-manager employees: Cierra Hernandez, Denise Lindsey, Suzan Waddington, Sonia Reyes, Alicia Herrera, Beckie Fernandez, Shonda Johnson, Charlotte Tackett, and Committee Chairman Mark Butler.
The tax office charity for 2015 is Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County. The committee plans to raise several thousand dollars with at least two fund raisers between now and the end of the calendar year, all of which will go to Meals on Wheels.
The name of the committee is Fundraising and Charitable Employees, or F.A.C.E.. The F.A.C.E. of the tax office will be the official charitable fundraising arm of the Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office and its 189 employees.
“County Tax Office employees are some of the most giving public servants I ever encountered,” said County TAC Ron Wright. “I expect great things from this committee. It’s one more way of giving back to the community and helping to make Tarrant County a great place to live. Selecting Meals on Wheels to be our first Tax Office charity is certainly a great way to start.”
The Tax Office will continue to support other fundraising efforts
such as the County’s annual Tarrant Area Food Bank fundraising
