Buyers sought for vehicles and a matched set of four car doors

Besides the usual government-surplus vehicles, confiscated cars, computers and flat screen TVs, Tarrant County's Biannual Auction features a set of four car doors that once belonged to a gray 1977 Chevrolet.
According to the Tarrant County Auto Theft Task Force the last time the doors were seen with their original vehicle was just before it was stolen from a residential driveway in Fort Worth in January 2008.  The vehicle was recovered a couple of weeks later - minus the doors, interior seats and wheel rims.  However, two yellow doors from another vehicle were found in the trunk.  The four gray doors were later found attached to a yellow 1978 Chevrolet in Arlington.
County officials hope to get a good price for the doors at the auction which will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 11, at the Windy Ryon Rodeo Arena in Saginaw.
