    Access and Visitation Enforcement Program

    1. Are you experiencing challenges with access and visitation?

    2. Do you have a Tarrant County court order?

    3. Does your court order set out specific days and times for which you are entitled to access and visitation of the child/children? EXAMPLE: on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th weekends beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 6 p.m. the following Sunday.

    4. Does your court order state the Custodial Parent is to surrender the child/children to you at a specific location? EXAMPLE: The Custodial Parent shall surrender the child/children to the Non-Custodial Parent at the beginning of the Non-Custodial Parent's period of possession at the residence of the Custodial Parent.

The Enforcement Program is a multistep process designed to assist you and the other parent with co-parenting challenges.  Legal Enforcement is happy to provide information to help parents understand and comply with court orders, including orders for access to and visitation of children.

Commitment is vital to a positive legal outcome.  You must continue your visitation attempts after you have submitted your application to this office.

Helpful tips when exercising access and visitation:

    1. Make your visitation attempts in person, only on the specific days and times and at the specified location set out in your court order.
    2. If at all possible, take an adult witness with you.
    3. Keep a journal detailing all your attempts and note whether or not you received your visitation.
    4. Be respectful.

If you have a Tarrant County order placing the other party on community supervision with the Domestic Relations Office, please contact Community Supervision Unit at 817-884-1848.
