The purpose of the Tarrant County Criminal Justice Planning Committee is to provide research, analyze, and write the Tarrant County Criminal Justice Community Plan and to maintain and update the Plan to reflect changing needs and gaps in services. The Plan focuses on four civic ideals:
1. Doing justice
2. Promoting secure communities,
3. Restoring crime victims, and
4. Promoting noncriminal options.
The North Central Texas Council of Governments requires this planning group to produce a plan through collaborate effort with voluntary community organizations and criminal justice stakeholders with the goal to reduce crime and make Tarrant County a safer place to live and work. The plan will be continually upgraded to reflect accurate and updated crime statistics, gaps in services, existing programs, new initiatives and funding opportunities.
