Dr. Peerwani is a graduate of the American University of Beirut (MD '76). He completed his residency in pathology at Baylor University Medial Center in Dallas, and is board certified in clinical, anatomic and forensic pathology. Currently he is the Chief Medical Examiner for Tarrant, Denton and Parker counties in the state of Texas and has held this position since July 1979. His academic affiliations include University of North Texas Health Science Medical Center and Baylor College of Dentistry as Clinical Adjunct Professor. He is an advocate of child safety and served on the Texas Child Fatality Review Committee as an expert in Forensic Medicine. Dr. Perrwani is also an advocate of Human Rights and serves as an expert consultant for Physicians for Human Rights with completed assignments in Rwanda, Bosnia, Indonesia, Cyprus Afghanistan, and Israel for genocide and human rights violations under the auspices of the United Nations Tribunal.
