Post-Adjudication Program

The Post-Adjudication Program is a short-term (10 – 30 day) residential intervention for high-risk juveniles on ISP or at JJAEP who have been non-compliant with the terms of their court-ordered probation supervision. The focus of the program is to gain compliance with probation terms. The program is highly structured and juveniles are required to participate in all program components. Youth participate in activities focused on enhancing life skills, making decisions, drug and alcohol education, physical training, HIV awareness, and group activities aimed at self assessment and personal development. Goals for successful completion of probation are reviewed with parents, probation officer, and juvenile at time of discharge from the program.

There were 258 terms of Post-Adjudication served during the 2002 program year, resulting in a 99% success rate. A juvenile receiving additional days added while in the program due to non-compliance will be unsuccessfully discharged if he cannot complete the program within the 30-day time frame.
