ISP/Electronic Monitoring Program

Intensive Supervision Probation – Electronic Monitoring Program (ISP-EM) is utilized by the Intensive Supervision unit to address violations of probation. Initial placement on EM is for a period of three weeks, which may be extended if violations occur. Behaviors which typically precipitate court-ordered monitoring are failure to observe curfew, running away from home, truancy, and not being available for probation visits. EM violations are immediately reported to Juvenile Services for review. Violations may result in extended program time on the monitor, placement outside the home, or immediate referral to detention.

There were a total of 568 terms of ISP-EM during the 2002 program year, resulting in a 66% success rate. Successful completion of the EM term is defined as completion of the EM term without being referred to detention for an EM violation.
