Supervisory Caution is the least restrictive intervention in the Progressive Sanctions model. Supervisory Caution requires that a child be released to parents following disposition. The majority of youth engaged at this level will have one-time contact with the department. Offenses disposed at this level typically include volatile chemical offenses, non-delinquent Family Code violations (e.g., Runaways, Violations of Probation, and School Expulsions for serious and persistent misbehavior), some Class B Thefts ($50-500) and Criminal Trespass cases; Some Class A Thefts ($500-1500), Criminal Mischief ($500-1500), and some assault with bodily injury cases. Suggested sanctions under this level include counseling, referrals to community resources, or participation in a first offender program. In 2002, the department disposed of 3,126 cases using this disposition. Content Last Modified on 1/5/2004 2:40:36 PM |
