Age Requirements
Tarrant County requires its employees to be at least eighteen (18) years of age. The Deputy Sheriff position minimum age requirement is 21.
Tarrant County has no mandatory retirement age.
Length of Time Applications are left on File
All applications for employment remain on file for two (2) years. However, eligibility lists are only current for six (6) months, except for Peace Officer eligibility lists in the Sheriff's Department, which are current for twelve (12) months. Any applicants who wish to receive further consideration for employment are required to submit a new application for the position(s) they are interested in.
Driver License Requirements
Several positions in the County do require proof of a Driver License as a part of the application process. If the position requires driving a County vehicle or heavy equipment a Driver License is required. A copy of the required type of Driver License ("C", "B", "A) must be attached to the application when it is submitted to the Department of Human Resources.
