Applications are accepted only for jobs currently open. Applications are available at Human Resources or by download. Applications can be mailed or faxed to applicants who live outside Tarrant County. Applications are not mailed to applicants living in Tarrant County.
Applications must be received by Human Resources by the date and time the posting closes. NOTE: Clerical job postings may close prior to the closing date once a sufficient number of applications have been received.
A separate application must be submitted for each position for which you are applying. If supplemental forms or other documentation is required, include that information with the application. Please include the Job Title on the application for each position for which you are applying.
Paper applications may be mailed, delivered in person or faxed at (817) 212-3061 to the Human Resources Office.
Resumes do not serve as a substitute for a fully completed application. However, cover letters or resumes may be included with an application. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
Processing Applications for Employment
Applications are issued and accepted for posted positions only, Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.
- Applications should be typed or printed (black or blue ink).
- Applicants must complete a County application for each posted position for which they have an interest and must include the title of the position on the application. THE EXACT JOB TITLE AND DEPARTMENT MUST BE SHOWN ON THE APPLICATION. (This information is listed on our web page/job listings screen.)
- The application must be completed entirely and all questions must be answered. If a question does not apply indicate "N/A" for non-applicable. If any position requires a certificate or license, (for example; driver’s license, nurses licenses, etc.) copies of these documents must be submitted with the application prior to the time posted on the closing date of the position. Failure to provide this information will result in the application not being given further consideration.
- Resumes will not be accepted as a substitute for applications, but may be attached for additional information. Please do not write "see resume" as a substitute for completing any portion of the application.
- Applications and attachments, once submitted, become the property of Tarrant County Government and will not be returned to the applicant.
- Please complete and attach an "Applicant Notice" form with each application submitted.
After Applying
After applications are submitted, they are screened for minimum requirements. Qualified applicants are referred to the appropriate departments. Notification will be sent to applicants regarding the status of the position(s) they have applied for. The hiring department determines which applicants they will interview.
