If you submitted a pre-application for Section 8 (Housing Choice Voucher) rental assistance during the week of February 1, 2010 through February 7, 2010, you will be assigned a number that determines your place on the Waiting List. More than 12,000 families applied for this program. Therefore, your wait could be up to 4 years or more.

Beginning March 15, 2010, you can check your status at Waitlist Check.
Waitlist Check will not expire, and will be available at all times beginning March 15, 2010. Please do not call or come into the Tarrant County Housing Assistance Office for status updates.
Placement on the Wait List does not determine eligibility for assistance.
When your number is reached on the Waiting List you will be contacted in writing with instructions on what you must do for us to determine if you are eligible for assistance.
It is important for you to remember to contact this office in writing with any change of address. Failure to do so will cause you to be removed from the Waiting List.
