Historical Markers

{Historical Marker}

The Commission is responsible for the local administration of the state historical market program. This includes initial review of applications and the offical dedication once the marker is approved, cast and shipped to the site. The program includes the familiar subject markers often seen along roadways, grave markers, and the Recorded Texas Historic Landmark medallions for structures. Tarrant County has been very aggressive in marking its past and has more than 300 state historical markers within its borders, including several state centennial markers set in 1936.
