Public Health receives more than 19,000 H1N1 influenza vaccine doses
           

            (Tarrant County, Texas) …Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) announced today that it received 19,200 doses of H1N1 influenza vaccine last Friday.

          The next vaccination event will take place tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Arlington Convention Center, 1200 Ballpark Way.

          The H1N1 vaccine is free and available to all people in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention target groups: pregnant women, household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age, health-care and emergency medical services personnel, all people from 6 months through 24 years of age and people 25 years of age and older who have health conditions associated with a higher risk of medical complications from influenza.

          So far, public health has provided 5,746 H1N1 vaccinations during its first two vaccination events and on Friday through its seven public health centers. Including this new shipment, TCPH has more than 27,000 full doses on hand.

          People are reminded that Tarrant County’s public health centers will be open this week through the end of the day on Wednesday and closed on Thursday and Friday (Nov. 26 and 27) in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The public health centers will reopen the Monday after the holiday, and each location will dispense the vaccine for as long as supplies last.
