Current Trends in Forensic Science

Each year, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office in conjunction with Texas Wesleyan University Law School and is held at Harris Methodist Education Center presents Current Trends in Forensic Science.

This symposium is designed to meet the educational needs of Law Enforcement Agents, District and Defense Attorneys, Justices Of Peace, Medical Professionals, and anyone in the Medicolegal Investigation Systems. Mock Trial Scenario

In April of 1993, the ATF raided the religious group known as “The Last Revelation” due to substantiated reports of illegal weapons and ammunitions possession. The commune headquarters was spread over 50 acres of land in Sanger, Texas.

Following a 51-day siege, the ATF stormed the facility during which time some members fled the scene while the remaining group members set fire to their compound and perished. Eighty five lives were lost including the life of The Last Revelation leader, Judas Hancock. Investigations revealed that Judas Hancock had sustained a gunshot would to the head at some point during the siege. Judas’ 1st Lieutenant, Joseph Turncoat, was one of the members that escaped during the siege. Mr. Turncoat is now on trial for the murder of Judas Hancock.
