County Judge B. Glen Whitley swore in Ron Wright as Tax Assessor-Collector during the County Commissioners Court meeting this morning.
On May 13, Wright was appointed by the Commissioners Court to replace Betsy Price, who resigned to run for the office of Mayor of Fort Worth. The current term expires at the end of December 2012.
The Arlington resident was Chief of Staff to U.S. Congressman Joe Barton. He also served on the Arlington City Council from 2000 to 2008, including the last four years as Mayor Pro Tempore.
Awards Wright has earned include Volunteer of the Year, Man of the Year for Community Service, Hero of the Homeless Award, friend of Education Commendation, the Partnership Award from the Fort Worth Area Builders Association and the Arlington Historical Society Award.
