The County Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC) directs the Tarrant County's Office of Emergency Management, which addresses disaster preparedness concerns including, but not limited to, emergency response, coordination of resources and services, Homeland Security planning and facilitating partnerships to ensure county-wide readiness. The Tarrant County Office of Emergency Management staff maintains regular contact with local municipalities, private agencies and the unincorporated areas of Tarrant County to coordinate planning efforts related to emergency management and first response issues. Additionally, the TCOEM keeps abreast of and seeks out grant funds for Homeland Security and emergency planning programs and equipment for local government, police, fire, EMS, emergency management and all other agencies and organizations who are responsible for the safety and support of the community.
