Enterprise Zones

A designated area in need of economic development based on high unemployment and low incomes in that zone. Enterprise Zone designation is initiated by a city, with approval by the State. EZ designation allows for special development incentive programs by the city plus sales and franchise tax rebates from the state. An enterprise zone serves as a reinvestment zone for tax abatement.
