On August 2, 2011, the Commissioners Court approved a Preliminary Illustrative County Commissioner Precincts Plan Map, which was available for public review at various locations throughout the county and on the Tarrant County Web Portal.
A public hearing was held on the Preliminary Illustrative County Commissioner Precincts Plan on August 17, 2011. On August 30, 2011, the Commissioners Court, through Court Order #111074, approved the plan for submission to the U.S. Department of Justice under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act and on September 14, 2011, it was submitted to the DOJ.
On September 6, 2011, the Commissioners Court approved a Preliminary Illustrative Justice Precinct Plan Map, which was available for public review in the Administration Building at 100 E. Weatherford St. in Downtown Fort Worth and on the Tarrant County Web Portal.
A public hearing was held on the Preliminary Illustrative Justice Precinct Plan on September 20, 2011. On October 11, 2011, the Commissioners Court, through Court Order #111422, approved the plan.
The Commissioners Precinct Plan was approved by the U.S. Department of Justice on November 2, 2011, while the Justice Precinct Plan approved by the DOJ on December 21, 2011.
The DOJ submissions are available for review in the County Clerk’s Office and in the County Administrator’s Office at 100 E. Weatherford Street in downtown Fort Worth. Below are the approved maps that were effective on January 1, 2012.
