The Tarrant County Veteran Services Office is an advocate agency established to assist veterans and/or their survivors obtain entitled benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the State of Texas. Our office is a part of and is funded by Tarrant County. We are not a part of the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs, more commonly known as the "VA". WE WORK FOR THE TARRANT COUNTY VETERAN AND THEIR SURVIVORS! Although we cannot adjudicate claims, we can provide advice about various programs and eligibility requirements and assist in completing the forms and other correspondence necessary to file a claim or an appeal. We will also assist in resolving problems and getting answers to questions about the laws and regulations that govern veterans' benefits. The office is located on the grounds of the Resource Connection of Tarrant County at 1200 Circle Drive, Suite 300, Ft Worth, TX, 76119. The telephone number is (817) 531-5645. Hours of operation are Mon - Fri, 8:00 am to 4:30pm (closed from 12:00pm to 1:00pm). We will assist customers who walk-in but prefer you call and make an appointment so that we give you the proper time and attention needed. Veteran Benefits Fair
The Tarrant County Veterans Service Office will be sponsoring a veteran benefits fair on Saturday, 23 August 2008 from 10am to 2pm in Ft Worth at the Resource Connection’s Conference Center located at 2300 Circle Drive. The fair is open to all veterans as well as survivors and dependents of veterans and will have representatives from agencies that provide or deal with veteran’s benefits such as VA benefit counselors specializing in compensation, pension, healthcare, education, burial, home loans, vocational rehabilitation, mental health, and women veteran issues. Representatives from Tarrant County Human Resources, City of Fort Worth Human Resources, and the Texas Workforce Commission will also be available for those seeking employment. In addition, representatives from the Small Business Administration Veteran Office, IRS, Social Security Administration, Medicare/Medicaid, and Veterans Business Outreach Center will be available as well. The Tarrant County Veterans Service Office provides FREE assistance to veterans and/or their survivors who are seeking to obtain entitled benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and the state of Texas.
