Since its inception in the 1950s, Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) has been a valuable local resource by providing services to all Tarrant County residents aimed at promoting, achieving and maintaining a healthy standard of living. With a client base and scope of services as diverse as the county's population, a dedicated staff of more than 350 public health professionals and annual funding resources totaling approximately $36 million, TCPH services truly touch everyone, every day, everywhere.

February is American Heart Month.

Keeping your heart healthy and fit is key to a longer, healthier life. The American Heart Association offers a one-stop spot for lots of information pertaining to heart health.

Friday, Feb. 3 is National Wear Red Day, a reminder that heart disease is a great health concern among women. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ National Heart Lung and Blood Institute Web site offers more information.

If eating healthier is one of your resolutions this year, check out our Live a More Colorful Life! Web page. Each month we post information regarding fruits and vegetables that are in season locally, as well as tasty, healthy easy-to-make recipes that use these in-season produce.
