    Tarrant County Commissioners approved the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget

    Tarrant County Commissioners approved the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

    The budget includes a General Fund Budget of $606,367,593, a Road and Bridge Fund of $38,480,533 and Debt Service of $35,205,662 for a Total Operating Budget of $680,053,788.

    Under the approved budget, the tax rate of $0.234000 per $100 valuation remains unchanged from last year. Total property taxes are projected to increase by $43,518,914 with $11,817,885 raised from new property being added to the tax roll this year.

    At Tuesday’s meeting, Commissioners also approved the budget and tax rate for the Tarrant County Hospital District.

    The tax rate remains unchanged from last year $0.224429 per $100 valuation and is estimated to generate revenue of $462,408,140 for the hospital district.
