Vaccine Updates and New Rental Assistance Portal Goes LIVE!

    Dear Precinct 2 Community,

Over the weekend our office partnered with Arlington leaders to host a COVID-19 Vaccine Registration and Food Box Distribution Drive Thru. Thanks to the partnership of our wonderful friends and neighbors we registered 131 individuals for the COVID-19 Vaccine and provided food boxes for roughly 300 households!

This event was a success due to the support of:

    • State Representative Chris Turner
    • Council Member Ruby Faye Woolridge, Arlington District 6
    • Judge Kenneth Sanders, Justice of the Peace Court Precinct 7
    • The Arlington NAACP
    • The Chris Howell Foundation
    • The Arlington Public Library
    • Arlington Charities
    • Mission Arlington
    • UT Arlington Public Health Program
    • Tarrant County Medical Reserve Corp

We have made a significant impact in Precinct 2's vaccination and registration numbers! REMEMBER: Starting earlier this week on Monday, March 29, 2021 the COVID-19 Vaccine is available to all Texans age 16 years or older and clinical trials have begun for children age 12 to 15 years old. While the trends in Tarrant County are mostly still trending down, we can’t let down our guard and remember the vaccine will help us beat this virus! Continue reading below to see the FOX 4 DFW news coverage of the event.

In other important news, Tarrant County has launched two new programs and websites!

Now LIVE: GetRentHelp.com is Tarrant County's new screening portal for rental assistance. All Tarrant County applicants can use this new portal and depending on address, household size, and need, applicants will be routed to the appropriate rental assistance application. In this latest round of federal funding for rental assistance, the cities of Arlington and Fort Worth received direct allocations. These city residents can still use GetRentHelp.com and they will be routed to the proper city's application. The Tarrant County Emergency Rental Assistance Program is now accepting applications. If you're behind on rent or facing housing insecurity you can Get Rent Help now! -- the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has extended the eviction moratorium originally set to expire today, March 31, 2021. It has been extended through June 30, 2021.

Also LIVE: The Stronger Together Community Toolkit is a joint effort of Tarrant County and UNT Health Science Center. There, you will find ready-to-use flyers and social media graphics designed to build vaccine confidence and spread the word about getting registered for the vaccine. We hope you'll visit the site and let your friends and family know that the COVID-19 Vaccine is safe, is free, and while still in limited supply, you can sign up to get your place in line!

Don't forget, TOMORROW April 1, 2021 is the LAST DAY to register to vote for the May 1 Joint Elections. If you are 18 years of age; REGISTER. If you moved; UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS. If you moved to a new county - RE-REGISTER IN YOUR NEW COUNTY. You can visit Tarrant County Elections for more information and a link to the Voter Registration Application that you can print and mail. As we generally provide for this and other Precinct 2 priority issues, we will be sure to provide more information on what you can expect this election in the coming days.
